Following the Paris climate agreement, the decarbonization of the energy and industrial sectors is becoming increasingly important. One of the most significant measures to achieve the climate targets is to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) is an essential part of the decarbonization strategy for unavoidable emissions and as a retrofit solution for existing CO2 emitting processes.

There are different processes to separate CO2 from emission sources and several paths for the captured CO2: either utilization as feedstock or permanent geological storage.

Along the CCUS chain, measuring techniques help to control the efficiency of the capture processes, the transport of CO2 as well as further accounting steps.

Sick AG has more than 10 years in pilot or commercial scale projects with solutions fit for most of the CCUS applications with gas analyzers or flow metering systems.
