David Perkins is Vice President of Government Affairs and Communications for Lehigh Hanson. In this role he represents the policy interests of the company at the national, state and local levels. These include infrastructure and transportation, resilience and durability, as well as environmental and sustainability strategy. In addition, David leads the group’s communications and community engagement strategies across the company’s North American operations.
Prior to joining Lehigh Hanson in 2020, he served as President and CEO of the Texas Aggregates and Concrete Association (TACA), representing the Aggregate, Concrete and Cement industry in Texas. Before joining TACA, David served as Vice President – Environmental, Government and Public Affairs for Martin Marietta. David began his career in the industry at Texas Industries over 23 years ago. During his career at TXI/Martin Marietta, he served in a variety of capacities, including corporate communications and government affairs, business development, marketing, and sales management.
David serves on the Government Affairs and the Climate and Sustainability Councils of the US Portland Cement Association (PCA) and was previously Vice-Chair of the PCA Sustainable Development Committee. He serves on the Industry Advisory Committee for the MIT Concrete Sustainability Hub and has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Texas Association of Business. He has also served multiple terms as the Chair of TACA’s Government Affairs Committee.
David holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science from Texas Christian University.
