Daniel has a MA from St Andrews in Scotland and worked in the electricity industry (RWE). Keen to contribute to global decarbonisation efforts he joined the Global Carbon Capture and Storage Institute (GCCSI) as a regional representative for Europe. During that time, he ran the European Commission’s CCS Demonstration Project Network, which contained 7 large scale CCS projects. Daniel joined Calix in 2014, an SME developing novel technologies to address global challenges. He developed and coordinated the LEILAC1 project – taking the first steps in applying a new technology for carbon capture in the cement and lime industry. The subsequent project, LEILAC2, commenced in 2020. Both are led by Calix and supported by the European Union’s H2020 programme.
